We truly appreciate it!!

While a lot of you bake during this summer months, why don’t you stay inside in your cool homes, or at the beaches, lakes or even a pool, and read a book! To continue with our Summer Suggested Reading we have for you:

Betty Jean Lifton’s “Journey of the Adopted Self”. This book is one of the first books I ever read on adoption. It’s like an adoption Bible. Being an adoptee myself, I wanted to see what was out there. Betty Jean Lifton takes us on a journey of ourselves. To understand us, to explore us, so that one day we can be “whole”. We all know we are on a journey, a journey to find our authentic self. Betty Jean Lifton takes you there.

“Primal Wound”, by Nancy Newton Verrier, is another classic. In her book, the author relates to a child’s consequences of adoption from the separation from their first mother through their adulthood. She talks about attachment bonding and effects of loss. Our primal wound.

We want to congratulate Patty, Lisa, Patricia, Alison, Ian, and Tracey on their recent finds! Let’s keep this green wave going. Happy Summer everyone!!!

We hope you will read our monthly news, and come back often to our  websiteFacebook page, and Instagram.

-Cathy Thompson, ARSS Founder
