Aprilis

April from the Roman name Aprilis, possibly originally from the Latin word aperire, which means, "to open"! Of course most people would think of April as spring time, a growing time for blossoms of flowers and trees, the harvest. April's birthstone is a diamond which is the symbol of everlasting love and courage.

Of course, my adoptee mind takes me elsewhere with what April means, but along the same lines "Aprilis", open records, diamonds, everlasting love for our birth children, birth parents, and adopted families! I mean, isn't that what April means to you??

In light of new beginnings, we have started our very first Facebook "group" - a Birth Mother's Facebook group. This is a safe place for birth moms, to share with each other their hopes, their dreams, their fears and journeys! We hope that with this special place - just for you - that you will feel safe in discussions with others who have traveled your same road. This group may be accessed here. Please join.

I hope in the near future, we will be able to have many other groups associated with the Adoption Triad. Please give us your input.

Happy April, we hope that with this new beginning, you all feel the power to begin or re-start your very own "blossoming"! Whether thinking about your new revelations from your original birth certificates, to starting this beautiful journey. We all need a safe place to call home.
